and specifically its Western Digital drives that have the power in a different place and need the NA doctored...
I suggest you get a Maxtor drive, haven't found a maxtor one that didn't fit/worked in a ps2
Maxtors are good, but from my experience, at least with the Maxtors I have tried, Maxtors give off more noise and only have a 1 year warranty, whereas Seagate drives are quiet and have a 5 year warranty.

I was able to doctor mine in about 3 minutes. You just have to remove some screws and cut the metal shield. I cut it with a nail clipper. I always use western digital because I never had good luck with seagate.
