First of this is my setup;
RGB Scart Connection that came with the JAP PS2
Now to my problem, every game i have played theres a black bar down the left of the screen and the picture doesn't look centered.
The majority of games i paly for NTSC (US)
I was thinking it may be an issue with my modchip, or would some kind of patching app fix it?
i dont know about this
my NA disk has sommin to center the screen, but im not sure how far it extends
My o2 mod chip also has part of the setup function allows me to center the screen
so someone with a dms would prolly have to tell you what to do, sorry i couldnt help much
You have a PAL TV so I’m assuming you are in a PAL location, you have a JAP PS2 and you play mostly American titles? That’s a puzzle in itself!
I have a V7, NTSC Station, I was always under the impression that if I tried a PAL game it would be only B&W. This is the case on my 27” set. But when I hooked the composite Video into my Computer Video capture card that supports both NTSC and PAL inputs, My PAL screen was in full color. Looked good and full screen but flickers (50hz strobe?)
I just happened to have gotten a PAL ARMAX I wanted to use for backing up my Memory saves to USB pendrive (works great btw) and I did convert it to NTSC with a patching tool “PS2 PAL 2 NTSC with YFIX”. There is also a NTSC 2 PAL version. It is a bit of a trial and error, lucky for me my V7 reads CDRW’s and it took about 5 burns to get the screens right (Yfix #64!). I actually ended up extract the ELF’s and import bact to the image and all that fun stuff. Not too practical if you need to convert a whole stack of games, plus DVD games are a lot bigger and would add to the difficulty.
Maybe you should try a different set or monitor, something that might handle NTSC better.
alot of non-cheap tv's / computers support pal/ntsc
My computer GFX card handles everything as far as i know
