hy there mates, im new to this forum.
as written in title i have slim PS2 90004 9c version with toxic chip inside so i can play non original games, but i would like to use USB for external HDD too. now, is there a way i can do that with softmod or something similar?

even with a modchip FMCB will not boot on that console . it has the new bios. but if you can get the chip to boot into uLE then you can put all your homebrew etc either on the MC or ona USB device and then use uLE to launch . this is more versatile than direct booting into OPL or PS2ESDL .

thnx for quick replys but as u sad i was not able to boot fmcb as suspected...
was thinking bout doing it on different 7xxxx and then transfer the MC to my PStwo, but not shure will that do due to my bios or im mixing pears and apples?

with full install of FMCB you will have no problem with same region system for it to work
Sorry forgot to mention newer systems removing MC checking on your model 
FYI their is a new but risky new installer that is region Free and should work on any system except the ones without MC check of course

FMCB will not work on slim consoles after date code 8c doesnt matter what region they are. the bios removes the check for updates from the MC .BUT you can still get the same effect if you either have a modchip that can boot DEV1 OR if you have a copy of swapmagic 3.6 or 3.8 . these versions will look for a USB device .
