Would it be easiest if i cut through all the legs, removed the chip then de solderd all the legs
i normally cut all the legs of with a very fine nose pliers. desolder the remaining legs and cleanup and then resolder the chip. iv'e done quite a few LA's like that - not too sure about the rs though, but it should work. I've also got a v12 that needs a new rs so am contemplating doing it as well![]()

do u no weather the ps2 still works without a RS chip coz if i screw it up io still want to be able to use the HD
did u ever replace urs becuase i havnt decided yet weather to bother as there are so many other things which could have gone wrong
Ive replaced them before and havent had a few legs quite soldered altogether and so all that happened was there was absolutely no drive activity at all but the ps2 still booted fine, I imagine that it might do the same thing completly removedOriginally Posted by jenko

think I'll also have to do the same - also not sure if it will work.
