    Hey all...

my friend tried to modify his system yesterday ... he had prior experience with xbox s but this is the first time he tried a ps2 ... told him to look through the forums to apply a proper fix since he had a version 12 system ...
After the mod attempt he decided to go with summ0ne's fix for focus and tracking but found that there were only dics read errors.
He left it over at my place to check out, i removed the chip and fix but still got DREs. Tracking and focus coils read at 7ohms so its not the lens. I noticed that the 303s read at 29k which is normal and one of the 683s was around 1900 and the other 683 had no value at all.
My entire question in this long post is 1) what is the value for the 683 so that i may replace the resistor and 2) is this he real cause od the DRE ?
Thanks for shedding any light on this problem.

It is damadged. Probably heat or stress.
if you replace them properly it should fix your problem.
