Replacing dvd drive –
10-01-2004,02:42 PM
I'm working on a case mod that involves putting a ps2 and an xbox into a pc case....
I have no problem's with modchip's and software etc, but I do need a little help with the dvd drive,
The one on my ps2 is broken and needs replacing so since it's going in a pc case I wondered could I use a pc's dvd drive even if it require's a little modification...This is a newb question I know, but all the same I would appreciate any help you guy's can give me!

I tried a search for this information and didn't get any result's that I could use.
So if anyone actually know's and would care to give me an answer I would be most grateful....
Everybody has to start somewhere.

Well, sounds really cool. I was watching Tech TV- "The Screensavers" to be spefic- and one of the staff on the show did the exact thing your trying to do, so I suggest you try takeing a look around www.thescreensavers.com (if not that g4techtv.com and navigate to the screen savers), and see if you can find anything.

Random guess so pay no attention: Wouldn't you have to convert IDE to whatever the PS2 uses?
