Replaced a laser in v5 now machine is screwed
Foolishly I had a v5 powered up, lid to the dvd-rom was off and the tray ejected. Then unscrewed the screw holding in the laser.
Noticed that the little plastic runner was screwed. Now instead of turning off the machine i simply unplugged the laser so i could get to the plastic runner more easily.
As soon as i unplugged the laser the machine blackscreened. Turned off the machine and put the laser back in. Now it will power on but the tray stays ejected and the eject button doesn't work as well as it having a black screen.
Also noticed that the fan kicks in instantly when powering on as apposed to a few second delay.
Anyone had anything similar... probably just have to write this machine off. I don't think it's a fuse but if someone can help that would be great.
