Removing parental control on a v9

Hello all

Im trying to remove parental control on a new v9(not modded!) but the option is grayed out! How can I do to reset it? I press select on a dvd movie ->setup-> Custom-> Parental Control, but its grayed out. Thanks for the help.

the code is in the ps2's manual, when u get to the parental control u press select and type 7444 .i believe this is the code

I dont have the manual with me. Also the option is greyed out! That means i cant even introduce a code because it doesnt appear as an option. If i press start or X nothing happens(on parental control option). Any ideas?
I checked gamefaqs to no avail.

weird...all u should have to do is start the movie, the parental controls come up with numbers at the top...Type in 7444, and it works. Always typed in for me...

Primenal is right make your change with your DVD movie in the ps2

Its exactly what i tried doing. anyways is the only way to even reach the dvd menu. This is really weird, being a totally new system, unmodded.

Are you using the ps2 controller, or dvd remote? if your using your controller you might want to make sure the analog is on (the red button lit up). I know some things like SNESStation, and other things I always have to hit the red button manually or I cannot select anything...

Thanks all for the help. I found the solution. Its really weird but works. Grab a pussy type film(disney works great) with no parental protection level(at least apparently), let the movie run, and THEN configure your options. Whoalla the options are not grayed out anymore! Why it works... who knows, but it does. The master code is still 7444 for v9's.
