Removing Intros from games
Removing Intros from games –
I'm so tired of all these intros most of the games have today. No, it's not the end of the world, but it would be nice if the game could be modded so it loads directly into the menu. Is there anyway to achieve this?
"What year is it today?"
Jesus Christ is the most important person who lived on this earth. he died on a cross 2005 years ago. for sinners to be saved.
I know what you mean. I think it would take editing the actual structure of the game, and knowing which specific files are the intros. It must be possible, otherwise how can Kalisto, Paradox, etc etc, make their own intros. I think all it would take it editing the iso, cutting out the intro movies, and re-making the files into a valid iso (say with the Sony CD DVD Gen), and then burning. But you'd have to make sure that you're not cutting anything vital. Might be worth more trouble that it's wort though. Would be an interesting project though.
Well, you can delete the intro movies from most XBox games. I know Halo loads directly into the menu after the fat has been cut out. Perhaps all it takes is to replace the intro files with blank files.
Well on thps pc games it was as simple as replacing them with a blank file. I tried this on the ps2 version of thps3 and it froze trying to still load the video.
You'd need a blank video of whichever format the game uses, right?
and you have to hope that the game is programmed with error handling. so that when it sees the file has no relevent data, it will actually go to the main menu.
No offense, but this is useless and lazy. Just press X to skip the intros...
Useless and lazy? I wonder how much time I've actually spent watching intros on games (SOCOM 2 damn them..)
No kidding. Some games force you to watch the damn dev/publisher videos each and every time you run the game. Why? Isn't once enough? Not to mention that you paid for the game!
Yeah I would have to agree and I love doing it on xbox games not only for the time wasted watching movies I've already seen but the extra space on the hdd that it saves....which adds up after a while With the ability to use hdd on ps2's now this would be handy for the same reason and it would be easier to edit and test this way without having to waste a dvd-r each time.
