    With certain modchips and certain versions of the ps2 it used to fix dvd stuttering
    I havent heard of this problem with any chip with a version 9/10 PS2 though

    As far as removing its pretty easy. (My second neokey install about 400 PS2s ago was my first and only time performing this operation )

    Leave your soldering iron on one side so that it melts and break free then do the other side (try to move it with your iron a little)

    You mean remove the black thing that point x gets soldered to? That would unlink the two points. Wouldn't that be bad?

    AFAIK that is what you need to remove but I wouldnt do it.
    Are you having problems with dvd movies?

    What chip do you have?
