ok i got 3 v1 ps2s and 1 v7 ps2 i got a v1 ps2 that doesnt play games! every game i put in it get the red screen! even dvds!
do you think its just a dirty lens or do i need a new laser?

If its a version 1, then I'd suspect the laser. But it wouldn't hurt to clean the lens to confirm its not that.

yup, throw it in the gutter go buy another (laser)
damn lasers!!!!
Cleaning it helped my v3 that was doing that. My v4 started doing that just with DVD format though, and a POT adjustment fixed that.
