Questions about booting elfs...

Please help me out if you can. I'd really appreciate a break from searching endlessly for posts about this.

1. How do I get Launchelf on my hard drive? I figured that I'd like to have ulaunchelf boot from there cause I just don't wanna risk losing all the work of getting this thing running on my memory card one day. And since I can apparently do it with my DMS3 chip, then why not, right?

2. What do I do to my harddrive to make sure it can read elfs? I heard something about partitioning? How do I do that? With what program?

3. Given that the above things can be done, what is the newest and most stable release of ulaunchelf?

1) dunno but if wrong someone correct me but better put the boot.elf in the memory card using the explot or the dev1, not in the hd
2) dms hd format to create the parition or ulaunchelf's 3.80 builtin hd manager
3)newest the ulaunchelf 3.80

Why is it that people say NOT to put the uLaunchelf on the hard drive? Is there a reason for this? I think I've heard a couple of other people say this too.

dunno i only have the independece exploit i don't have a modchip, can help anymore sorry
