    Hi there,

I have had my modded PS2 for almost 6 months now. It has stopped playing DVD movies and whenever I insert a DVD movie disc it always shows me "Unable to read disc" and disc read errors. I have a Magic V 50k chip on board with a PAL v9 PS2. All of my PS2 DVDr and CDr games are running magnificently without any problem (touchwood).

Also there is a lot of dust around at my place and dust even gets collected at the fan blades and the eject tray. So I was thinking of cleaning my laser lens with a Lens cleaning Disc.

Most importantly, I live in India and am not able to get hold of any PS2 DVD Lens cleaners like Blaze's DVD lens cleaner or BigBen's DVD lens cleaner FOR THE PLAYSTATION 2.

I am able to get normal DVD lens cleaning Discs intended for DVD Movie Players and PC DVD Rom Drives.

I was just wondering if I get one of those, will it be able to clean my PS2's lens.

Also one of my PC hardware guy stated that he can get me an Original Samsung DVD lens cleaning Disc but he stated that it is "Dry". I wonder what he meant by that. May be the other DVD lens cleaning discs come with a liquid or something. Should I get one of those "Dry" ones or the liquid ones.

Sorry for writing this post so BIG.

Any help in this regards will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanx in Advance.

well your post may be long but the answer you are looking for is short. forget about the dvd cleaners those are not even needed. just open your ps2 and the laser drive cover take off. now you are looking at the laser and the rails. wipe the laser eye with rubbing achocol and a q-tip and your done.
