I remember back a while ago when i first saw psx, it was a hyped up compute rthat played jap games am i right....weel my question is what happened?
I knwo i can google it but my next question is what really matters:
after seeign that ps2, it looks like a computer.....is that what ps3 well look like...please comment on this.

The PSX has nothing to do with the PS3. If the PS3 has a similar construction, its starting price-point will be too high to enter the market.
The PSX's features, contruction, and appearance are geared towards high-end A/V equipment, because thats what it really is, and that is its proper niche market in Japan. If you see it alongside other Japanese A/V equipment in the same category, you will know what I mean. I saw a Sony Blu-ray disc recorder/PVR the other day that was similarly constructed, albeit much more expensive.
The PSX is truly nothing more than a high-end PVR/media console that happens to play PS2 games.
