I have a backup of a PSX import game (It is NTSC and I'm in PAL region). I have been using the swap trick to boot this PSX Backup, which loads fine.
However, once started it does not fill the screen, there is a thick blacl bar at the bottom of my TV (My TV does support 60hz btw). I have done some searching and ended up downloading some tools that convert NTSC to PAL and have 'Y-Fix' enabled. I tried this on an imafge of the game, and the best I can do is to centre it on the screen, so that there are 2 smaller black bars at the top & bottom, which I prefer than how it first looked. With this scenario in mind I have a few questions still :
1.) Is there anyway to convert imports (NTSC to PAL in my case), and have it play in 'FullScreen' ?
2.) When I recieve my memory card back, with FMCB on it, is there a better way to play PSX games, other than having to use the PS1 Swap Trick ? Maybe some homebrew or similar, that I could install ?
3.) I realise that to save game whilst playing PSX titles, I will need a PS1 Memory Card. I have read though that some third party cards do not work. Does anyone know of any brands that definately DO work, and any that definately DONT work (Other than Sony, of course) ? (So I can increase my chances of buying a compatible one off Ebay)
Thanks in advance for answering my questions, I think these are the last things I need answers for .. :>
