I am repairing a V13, which was modded (chip I do not know), and had read problems.

Then somebody else removed the modchip, and the pstwo was working ok again. Just after a month, it gave a black screen.

I checked the V13, and modchips was removed correctly.
But I saw that somebody also tried to install the Summone fixes, and removed those.

The laser type which was used was the SPU laser, of which the DVD pot is on 1066 Ohm.

When I turn on the pstwo, the screen keep black, and the laser moves to the inner circle, tries to focus, but does not give any light.

I tried to replace the laser by a new SPU, but still no light.

Could it be that the RS2004 is defective ?

I measured those, and they all all good in resistor value, and connections to the mobo.

So that will not be the problem.

    First measure all your fuses
then when no failure found in the fuses check the board very closely
i have seen lots of broken pstwo boards where damage was made on the bios points when W or R is gone or short black screen occurs and no light on the laser diode

a simple trick to find damaged traces is to scan te motherboard and then you can ZOom in on your motherboard with Painting tool

    Good Luck MABCOM

Ps i sended you a mail about the controllers but did not recieved a answer back
MABCOM a Pro installer in the netherlands
