  1. #1 Question PS2v9--Magic V 50K vs. DMS3 V9

What's the verdict ya'll? I heard the Magic is "finicky" when it comes to booting up different items (holding the power button, tapping it, etc...). Whereas the DMS you can just use your controller. I know you can flash/upgrade the bios too which is kool...but dont know if I would really use that. The price difference is huge though, but I'm not trying to get no POS ya'know.

    thanx in the advanced...

The Magic V 50k isn't finicky it is just different. To boot PS2 backups you just load them like a original PS2 disc. To load PSone backups or DVD movies you have to hold eject for 3 seconds when you turn on the PS2. To disable the chip you do the same but hold for 5 seconds. I've got one and its worked perfectly so far. The only problems I've heard about the magic V 50k is that when installing its sensitive to wire length.

After owning two Magic 3.1 I chose not to go with magic 50k. I heard it was a improvement from prior magics but being professioal install I went with dms3 and I am very happy with it. If your funds are low or self install go for it. i AM CHANGING OUT MY MAGIC 3.1 for dms3 now.

well thanx for the info ya'll. I've seen different post or different sites where ones were having problems w/ the Magic and how it really needs to be installed correctly, ie wire lenth and/or wire gage. So, some people have problems, others don't. I'm still kinda split down the middle...leaning towards the DMS but at the price---but hey, you get what you pay for right

    thanx again...
