Where exactly is the guide on how to connect my PS2 to my PC using LAN cable(Crossover-Patch-CAT5-Ethernet Cable).
I want to copy, paste, move files from/to my PS2(mass,mc,hdd)using ule and watch videos and listen musing using SMS.
And do I really need to install some special program on my PC to be able to connect to my PS2.
What I have to configure on PS2 and PC side?
I'm noob at this since I didn't have any interest in it till now.
Well vsub...
You need uLaunchELF... go to misc, PS2NET
Then in your pc, you need a ftp client. I use Filezilla. Connect to 192.168.0.10 (PS2 IP) and make sure to disable PASSIVE MODE.
That's all you need.
Now for SMS, u'll need PS2Client Loader... from vtcorona and PS2 Client that's present in the ulaunchelf main thread. Or you can use the samba protocol as well.. but i'm too tired to go thru that right now.
default PS2 ip is 192.168.0.10 in all ps2 programs, including SMS.
If you're using window xp firewall, make sure to unblock the ps2client program as well.
Good luck
But do I have to configure something on the PC side...like IP or something(my IP address is obtained automatically).I have only one LAN card and I disconnect my internet cable to connect the one that comes from my PS2.
Ok it's working now but maybe I didn't understand something, did something wrong or there is problem with Ule's PS2Net.
When I start it and try to enter the PS2 I see hdd, mass,mc and psf.I can access normally mass and mc but when I try to enter hdd I can see all the folders but any sub folder lead the the root directory...for example if I try to enter __boot I'll enter in that directory which contains what I see in the root directory.
It's the same thing with FireFTP and I disable the passive mode.
So does that means that no one knows why this is happening?
Possibly. I can't speak for everyone else, but I am myself unable to get the response you described so therefore I can't experiment with whatever causes it.
How are you using the PS2Net then or rather how do you access you PS2 hdd from you PC?
There are many ways of doing it, and your screenshot does indicate that you have tried to use one opf those ways, following the links from the root directory into "hdd", "0", "__boot", but at that point getting some weird error, causing the content of "__boot" not to be displayed properly, instead showing the content of the root partition list (the one that contains "__boot").
One factor which may play a role here is that the root list does not contain the names of folders, but of partitions. This could possibly indicate a problem with that particular partition "__boot", though that is just a speculation. Can you access that partition correctly from the uLE FileBrowser ?
You may also want to try other FTP methods/clients. The precise example you tried works perfectly here, using either FlashFXP or simply Internet Explorer v6.0.xxx, showing the true content of the "__boot" partition. So that should work at your end too, unless there is something wrong with that partition.
Btw: Did you try HOST protocol instead?
That really is much faster and more useful, though it takes a little more setting up. But once you are done with that extra work you can browse your PC shares from the uLE FileBrowser, almost as if they were on a PS2 storage device.
