Plenty of news to report today. But first, I regret to announce that I've decided to move on from ps2dev. After nearly four years I've decided its time to concentrate more on my other activities. In particular, I will be returning to develop Argot and Colony as an open source model; I've mentined them in news before.
In a strike of luck and good timing, a company has recently come forward and offered a nice price for the ps2dev web site. I have accepted their offer, and they will take over the site on its forth birtday in just four days. They haven't been exactly clear with their plans for the site, except that they believe that it can be transformed to become a commercial web site. I have setup a special thread for people to ask questions here. I can't announce the company as negotiations are not finalised; however, I can say that they are not new to the ps2 scene.
Now back to the news from around the site.
We now have a new sub-domain for all the french speaking visitors. froggies.ps2dev.org has been set up by tmat0r to provide an area to make it easier for froggies (I mean french speaking developers

to get into ps2dev.
If you hadn't noticed the forums have gone crazy with PSP discussions. So much so that we have seperated the PSP forum into two areas. One is for general discussion and the other for development related topics. Please ensure you use the correct forum and that when you hit the reply button you have something useful to add or say. Replying with "Me too", or "yeah.. that's cool" is not generally considered something useful.
One again, I missed the chance to visit breakpoint this year. However, there was a good contingent of ps2dev'rs there again this year. No ps2 releases were made, although emoon came close. breakpoint seems to be the ps2dev meeting place. Start planning to be there next year!
In development news, lukasz has put his great libito graphics library into CVS. libito has been around a number of years and is well developed with examples and documentation. If you haven't used it before, grab it from CVS, and help out with making it better. You can get more information from lukasz' site at
www.lukasz.dk.
One of the good things that came from the breakpoint meeting this year was that some of the harder to find bugs of gsKit were resolved. This brings gsKit closer to release. For now grab an updated version from CVS.
To round off the graphics libraries. ooPo has been working on getting a simple graphics library into ps2sdk. This has involved the inclusion of his DMA library, a basic math3d library and graphics library. For now, this is also only available from CVS.
