I was thinking about getting an xbox but I dont' know why. Maybe better graphics? who knows. What would you guys do? I think all in all the xbox is a computer, if thats the case.........I have a computer.

a ps2 is a computer also. you could run a vcr from an x86 based cpu and it doesnt mean it's the same as your home desktop pc.

as far as superior gaming, that's all personal preference. and unless you want to join the crowds of nerds who think it's cool just to run linux on the xbox for the hell of it, you might as well just flip a coin.

PS2 is far from it's last legs..

PS2 does have GT4, FFXII, MGS3 (no it won't go xbox.. maybe in a few years), GTA4, KillZone, other games.
Xbox will have Fable (overhyped imo), Halo2, Ninja Gaiden, etc..

depends on what you like.

Buy the X-Box, they are dirt cheap now, and there is nothing better then playing a 4 player game of UT2003 or Nightfire on a big tv. The ammount of user made programs for the xbox is amazing. I mean, wih its hard drive, it can take the place of every other gaming system you have had, except the good ol ps2

And the laser on the X-Box is actually a good one! Now that is a great reason to get an X Box, no laser trouble!

yes THERE IS TROUBLE...Xbox has 3 dvdroms...Thompson,Philips and Samsung...Samsung being able to play anything...scratched or new...Thopmson sux big time and philips is somewhat better...

it's just a media compatibility issue, not a serious system stability problem ( how ps2 have blow optical lens ? ), so in fact the quality ( not the compatibility ) of the xbox dvd-rom is better than ps2 crappy platic drive

...So keep in mind the thomson drive read flawesly DVD+R AND DVD-R ( the problem is just with CD-R, bur now who care about that ? the dvd writer is now very widespread )

quite honestly.. the lasers are fine.. it's just the tray is sucky sucky

if you get an xbox buy a 80 gig hdd for it. my last roomate had one he just stored his games on the hdd no need for the lazer.personally i like the gameplay of the ps2 better than x box
