PS2 won't work, Anyone know how to fix?

I got a new game today, and when I went to put it in my PS2, it loaded, and the page came up where it shows the memory card and the game, so I highlighted to game and clicked X, so i could play it. It started to load, and went right back to the page(with the memory card and game), so I highlighted the game again, and clicked, and it went right back to that page...and again, and again, and again. So I tried a different game, thats work for me in the past, and still...no go, keeps repeating to that page. I just got my PS2 this summer, and haven't dropped it or anything, I do sometimes open the game thing to switch the game while ones still "playing", but thats mainly it.

What do I gotta do to fix it??

umm its not the ps2 if other games work... then try and rent the game and see if it works

sounds like your laser is toast.

strange that the disk shows in the browser normly if a ps2 cant read a disk it won show up

a bit more info is required: ps2 version? modded? does it play cd / dvd originals?

laser is worn out try cleaning lens if you are having problems with backups use better media. might have to pot tweak or replace laser

Thanks for the info...wierd..this morning it was acting the same, i get home from school, its fine??..

But I have both the old/big one and newer/smaller one, so I'm fixing the older one so I got a backup next time..

hi, my ps2(scph-70000) wont boot, and i can only play it for 2 hours max caus it heats up easily, can sombody help, tnx
