Recently, my PS2 stopped reading PS1 games. It reads everything else fine. Every time it tries to load a PS1 game, it starts buzzing really loudly and doesn't make it to the PlayStation splash screen. I tried cleaning the lens, and it read PS1 games again, but a few hours later the problem came back. So today I tried adjusting the white cog, and I kept doing it until it finally read a PS1 game. It worked, but then about 10 minutes later when I tested it again, the same problem occured. What is the cause of this problem and how can I fix it? Thanks!

I see. But since my PS2 is open I can see if it catches or not. When I close the disc tray with a PS2 game, the white thing does catch on to the disc. I see it snap into place. Would this still be the problem?
