PS2 will read everything BUT GTA:SA. Ideas?

So, I'm new, and I've been looking for a question like this, but have yet to see it exactly like the problem I'm having. Hopefully it hasn't been asked before.
I bought GTA:SA yesterday and played it for a number of hours before heading to work. When I came home afterwards, the PS2 wouldn't recognize the disc. It just sits at the Browser/System Configuration screen. I tried every other game I have and they ALL played just fine. Just not GTA:SA.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this. Is it the GTA:SA disc, or is it something to do with my PS2?
Any help is appreciated.

try the disc in a friends ps2, if it don't work then the disc is faulty

What renegade said. If you got it from a game store like Gamestop or EB, you can just take it in and they'll try it for you also.
If it does work on another PS2, then try renting/borrowing Champions of Norrath and see if that works on your system. GTA:SA is a dual-layer disc (as is CoN) and your PS2 may be having problems reading it. I had that problem with CoN (all other games worked fine) and ended up getting a new PS2.

GTA:SA is Single Layer. Not Dual Layer.
Try the Game in another PS2. If it works there, then its your PS2. Otherwise its the game.
