Anyone know if their are any differences in hardware and performance for the new slim ps2's as opposed to the normal ps2's up to v10 I believe.

Other than the dimensions, what else is different between the two (adv and disadv) that anyone is aware of?

    Thanks

ps2 has a hard drive bay and more room, can easily be modded.
psTWO has built in network adapter but no hard drive support , its new and u need sumone who really know what they doing to install a modchip to it plus it has less room inside, also has a flip top .
    NEW , v4 mobo , 400-C laser , Matrix infinity chip ,
modded with 2 windows and painted white.
    ps2 , V4 , unmodded. (SOLD )
    ps2 v7 with Messiah 2 chip...(Died )

currently using , infinity manager ,hdd utility tools so i can save games to HD via the brower ,HDloader ,
ps2menu-k w/ 160GB HD, and networked to PC for game transfers , and media player. damn i love my set up , thanks for the install THINKDIFF <done bussiness with him twice so far and the Mod installs are perfect. (highly recommend if your in NY)

    Projects:
1.modded memory card with big ass blue LED: done
    (check forum for pics)
2.just finished the door bell mod , can reset my ps2 from 100ft away (wireless)... just makes me happy!

    PS2 pros:
    - hard drive bay, HUGE pro
    - selection of modchips/ease of installation

    cons:
    - have to buy network adapter, even to use hard drive.
    - inconvenient for taking with you to peoples places =(
    - heavier

    PSTWO pros:
    - sleeker, lighter design
    - more convenient if you travel hella
    - inbuilt ethernet adapter

    cons:
    - no hard drive support! (HUGE CON for some people)
    - limited selection of modchips
    - maybe improved ways combatting piracy? I'm not sure, but it seems like a natural progression.

Basically the same points EspI69 made, except with my well-thought out -'s! lol, jokes. I don't think there'd be to much performance difference, EXCEPT. With PS2, you have the ability for having a hard drive, which decreases loading time. That's all I really see though, any information people have on this'd be interesting, pz.

    PS2 pros
    - Ability to use HDD in hard drive bay
    - PCMCIA port (future homebrew developments?)
    - Firewire on most models
    - Wide range of modchips
    PS2 cons
    - have to buy network adapter to use hard drive or online
    - heavier
    - noisy

    PStwo pros
    - very small and sleek
    - no noise
    - inbuilt network adapater
    PStwo cons
    - limited selection of modchips
    - no hard drive / PCMCIA support
    - no Firewire port
    - no ability to use modchip-less exploit method

baslically the same points as PoppedColla made, except i added a few things and made it bold some some reason.

yeh if you already have a ps2 no reason whatsoever to "upgrade" to a pstwo, I guess it's kinda neat, I just wish it didn't have a flippy, and did have a HD bay or some way to connect a HD!

only v0s have PCMCIA ports but maybe they meant the pcmcia-styled port where NA plugs in?

I might buy a PSTwo for my second tv but they get really hot and I feel like I am gonna break it soon or sooner, the only way to keep it cool would be to buy a laptop cooler, a plate that has fans on it to keep a laptop from overheating, they work wonders on laptops, I bet they would on a ps2 also.
