PS2 Version 5 Reset Button Problems
Hi
I have a version 5 PS2 modded with a Mesiah 2 chip. My dad did the install and all has been running smoothly for the last couple of years. Recently, however, I've been experiencing some rather strange happenings involving the reset button. The problem is as follows:
During play the PS2 automatically shuts down to stand by mode, as if the reset button has been held down. Once this has happened, the reset button is impossible to press because as far as the PS2's concerned the connection is already made. The only way for me to boot a game is by using the eject button to reset. I can't play any backups or imports when this happens because the chip turns itself off when the reset button is held down for five seconds on boot up. Seeing as the button is pressed in terms of the connection the chip is off.
The PS2 always snaps out of this, with the reset button returning to normal functionality after a short (or long) wait. It just does it randomly really.
As you can imagine, this is incredibly annoying, especially when it goes into stand by whilst the PS2 is reading the memory card and my saved game gets deleted.
If any of you guys could help with this I'd be eternally indebted.
Thanks for your time
