Ok after thinkiing I had goten my 2 ps2 systems back working again to the point that they would read cd's I now ran into another problem, my PS2 V5 will not ecject anymore. The laser is still working and the rom itself spins still but when i press eject the blue light just flases no ejecting, the gear that is used to eject the tray does not even spin at all. I think its the PS14 fuse gone but i cannot locate it so maybe there is no PS14 chip on a V5 like there is on a V4?

I just fixed this problem on a ps2 about 2 hours ago. It's probably not the same soloution but i'll tell you how i fixed it anyway.

All i did was open up the top of the concole and puch the tray down and ack. I had to push very hard i literally thought the CD tray was going to sanp. Good luck getting your PS2 working

It seems as your BA5815 is dead, check PS11 if it is blown, your Ba5815 is blown too.

i have broken i think 5 ps2s so far, but i am fairly confident that taking out the dvd drive and looking at it carefully could show what's wrong with it. i had a ps2 with a dvd drive that wouldnt eject, i opened er up and saw the tray ontop of the rail on one side and tried to move it in and out, no go. so i pressed down really hard till i got it back into the groove and voila, problem fixed! i think this is a common enough problem that u might hav it. did u recently force the dvd tray in or out? or hav the unit fall on its side? anyways, hope my post helped
