Its getting kind of crowded in my room, and when the ps2 is laying
down, I don't got much space left on my desk.

Im know if i will stand up the ps2, I can get some space.
But I don't know if its healthy to the ps2 if it will be stand.

    Is it?
It will effect the ps2 at any way?

I never used the vertical stand, but it should be fine since it's one of the original accessories for the PS2. The only thing I would be concerned about is if you have a hard drive in your PS2. You might need the hard drive rails to help stabilize it's position or some other home-made version...

Mine sits vertical in a $ony stand for a long time with no issues. Also I fabricated a couple of aluminum spacers for the hdd which keeps it from moving and no problems with that either.

Ive had mine in the vertical position for a while now (with HDD) and no problems. Infact Id say that my PS2s lasers works better standing uprigth than when its lieing horizontal.

maybe im wrong but i notice when i leave my fat ps2 in a horiziontal position, the video gets somewhat dirty on my tv (lines scroll arcoss my tv screen vertically, but not noticable if u dont pay attention to it), the common problem any fat ps2 has.
but when i leave my ps2 in a vertical position the scrolling lines get less visible.

    to answer the question:
i left my fat ps2, hdd included, in the vertical position for awhile, no problem sofar, dont need any support to hold the hdd cuz my network adapter's ****in tough (i had a hard time pulling the hdd out of the adapter one time).

for some reason my ps2 plays some of the games fine except my tekken tag tournament it needs to give me hell and makes a lot of noise in the vertical position and even laying down that game doesn't even read the cd unless I start up the browser (where the card and cd is recognized) load Soul Calibour 3 when that is recognized I pop in TTT and the game works along with a little noise I only have a few games but ttt is the only 1 that has a dark blue scan area all the others are clearish. Why is that?
