As of right now, the only free application to play media content is the PS2Reality Media Player. It can can only play divx/xvid movies, mp3s, and jpgs.

If you want to play regular avi and quicktime files on your ps2, you are going to need either the GameShark MediaPlayer or QCast Tuner. (Both are the same, just different GUI) Also, both are NOT free, and only have network support. Meaning no getting data from cdvd. I am not even completely sure if either of those products can play mov files, but I think I remember seeing it.

    hope that helps.

Just convert the .mov/.avi files to a mediaplayer format.

Nope, go buy a pioneer DVD-J.. the ps2 is most probably going nowhere in the VJ industry.

Unneccessary for a VJ. Though I've always wanted to ask this question = Are laptops REALLY frowned upon by other VJ's?
