    Hey guys, n00b here.

I've been assigned to create a PS2 portable, and stupidly took the job. Upon cracking open the PSTwo, I started to throw heatsinks on the mobo, temporary of course. Keep in mind the PS2 was being powered, but I think it was in idle (red LED) state. A heatsink on top of a random IC slipped. A few sparks started popping out, until I quickly moved the heatsink away. Obviously I shorted something out...

So after relaxing for a minute I turned the PS2 on hoping it would work. I insterted the power cord. The red idle LED turned on. I hit the switch and was happy as the green LED turned on, though it turned off a second later and went back to the red idle LED state... Everytime I try turning it on, this happens. I get no video, no sound, just the LED showing.

    Re-cap:
    -LED is red
    -I press the on button
    -LED turns green
-One second later, the LED turns red

Hopefully I can jump a fuse, or something easy of that sort... Can anyone help...?

EDIT: If this is in the wrong section, please move it, sorry.

test all the fuses. there's bound to be a few busted. Also never jumper a fuse. Replace it with another fuse of the same rating.

Are all of the fuses marked with PSxxx on the mobo? Luckily, the primary fuse labeled F0001 is still good.

EDIT: There are quite a few fuses with no continuity... hmm...

EDIT 2: WOOT! Fixed it, thanks for the advice. I just replaced fuse PS3 (labeled 252) with an extra 252 labeled fuse from another PS2 that will never see fixing, believe me.

    WHEE!
