Why would you like to do this?
Do you have any heat problems with it?
If so, can you provide more details?

Actually i think the slims didn't get so hot at all, but i found a weak spot.
If you demounted it and bend the metal shielding with the cooler on top some how during the process,
you might get some heat problems.

Theoretically you could do so, if you have some equipment and if you know what you are doin.

Personally i never tried it and so i can not tell for sure, but a possible way could be:

--Get the information what kind of fan it is (type, model etc)
figure out what it's maximum voltage is in the specs.
--Find a spot on the PS2 which provides that voltage or more (may be 8.5V or 12V).
--Then calculate the right resistor which you will connect into the +wire of the fan and that
voltage point, to provide exactly that max voltage to the fan (or better a little bit less).
--Be sure that you get the power directly behind the voltage regulator!
--That way the fan will blow always with his max power, without any regulation!
--Be sure, that the resistor you use has the right amount of Watts, better a little bit more as needed!

ok thank you can Indicare which will be the place where 8v and 8.5V've seen the cooler ps2 slim supports 8.5V soldering equipment I have already soldered many things and just wanted to know where to solder the wires required.

Oh my, me and my big mouth, ok, i will take a look on it the next view days and let you know where
    to solder that one wire.
    But give me some time.

Please find at least the specs of the cooler, what is his maximum voltage, what is his maximum current consumtion?

I did a lot of research and measuring today, but unfortunately it doesn't look so good

The fan i found in a SLIM model of a friend was a BFB0412HHA (i don't know the model of the PS2 because the sticker was gone).
It is probably extra manufactured for the PS2 slim models and so i couldn't find any real specs for it, only for the
    5V and 12V models.
On the BFB0412HHA fan it self was a sticker with: 8.5V and 0.36A
Due to the datasheet i found for the other 5V and 12V models i calculated a max voltage of 9.35V for the 8.5V model.
That's what you need to run the fan permanently on its max limit (but don't nail me on it, it's just a guess)!

    Now to my measurements:
It seems weird, but somehow the fan seems to be directly connected to the 8.5V of the mainboard.
There are at least 3 other 5V power regulators on the board which share the same connection, so i guess it doesn't
make any sense to regulate that voltage seperately with a DC/DC converter (i also couldn't find one).
And i could not find a spot which provides more than the input voltage of 8.5V.
About the sense wire for the fan speed, i have no idea if it realy is connected at all.
During my tests with my own PS2 with the internal HDD i at least figured, that the slim works without the fan being connected.
(one time i just forgot to connect it and then the PS2 heated up to the max until it just ceased any function, fortunately
    it still worked afterwards....puhhh ).
That means, the mainboard just didn't care at all if there is a fan connected or what the fan is doin .

But...may be there still is a short way to do it somehow, if you use a negative adjustable voltage regulator (79m05 adjustable
    for example).
You could use that one together with may be the 5V 500mA voltage regulator for the second USB slot to generate the needed 9.35V.
But you also need some diods to prevent the latch and i am not so sure if it will be able to handle the curent during the fan
starts spinning since that kind of setup is not so stable (it has to be completely tested first).

And sorry, i will not go any further with this, spend already a couple of hours.
May be later if i think, that it realy will be needed.

Hope i could help you out with your question.

P.s. may be something like this will also do the trick:
