PS2 / PS3 News

I was at Gamestop today and ran into a Sony employee (actually works close by to me in Sorrento Valley). I asked him about PS3 and he said it's not going to be released until late 2006, early 2007 (I know it's far off - but who am I to argue with his blue shirt)

Also, regarding the new PStwo - they're sticking to that model and will not be producing the older style PS2 since there is not much support for games that utilize the HDD.

Finally, PSOne will be discontinued at it's 10 year anniversary, which is real soon.

whoa scary but i will not belive n e thing about realease dates or specs etc until a official website puts it up..for example ign, gamespot, or the playstation site..

I thought Sony annouced late 2005 or early 2006?

they did, I think this guy is full of it, it should be released on time, otherwise xbox's new console will take the market.

Sony also stated that they will let us have a sneak peak of the PS3 at E3 2005 so the date does make sense.
