hehe - one sure way to create a smoke machine. US and UK power isn't compatible. someone's always gotta be different

    you need a 110V to 220V converter.

I think he needs a 220v>110v stepdown converter, a 110v to 220v would be usefull for an european PS2 brought in north america...

or you can try to replace or re-route the transformer to have more stepping down.

i think replacing a psu as a whole would be the easiest & safest way

ps i don't think all 220v is 50hz & frequency doesn't matter because afaik, the dc voltages supplied to the ps2 are generated by dc-dc conversion & regulated through voltage regulator. because whether it's 50 or 60hz, it will be same once converted to dc through w-bridge.

i am an expert, so someone knows about this stuff should exam the psu, but i am pretty sure.

I had an NTSC console that I bought here in Australia, we are also 220-240 volt, i just replaced the power supply with an Aussie one and it worked perfect, of course I had to modchip it as well or it wouldnt play my Aussie games otherwise.
    cheers
