An old ps2 I have here reads a dvd-r game like once every 10 tries. Worked on a backed up vid first try
I cleaned the laser like 3 times and still nothing.

Anyone know if I should adjust the pots and how to do so? I need a really good tutorial or something on the subject and how to adjust it and what ways, etc etc
    btw its a v1-3

    Thanks,
    Daniel

How old are those v1-3? 5 years old? The laser is worn out by now. Get a new laser. No other way.

Should I even attempt to fix it? b/c I was reading that pot tweaking is only for games that freeze up or the graphica fade away, etc etc.

I also know someone with an unmodded v7 that doesen't read anything anymore. Cleaned the laser and still nothing. You guys think this laser is fried as well?

Where do you guys buy lasers from anyhow for the best deals?

    Thanks once again

I would recommend http://www.richspsxparts.com. Make sure you get the right laser and they sell new and refurb lasers. I hope this helps.

I opened it up and cleaned it with alcohol and a qtip like all of the guides have said.
Im probably going to just sell it and buy a newer console to mod.
