Hey guys.. i got a ps2 in the mail awhile ago that i was told sumtimes the screen would roll up and down but not all the time..
So.. i get it and it all powers on fine and appears to be working until i dont get any video at all..
i believe its a v4.. i took it apart and went down to the mobo.. the controller plug was glued in but it didn't appear to be modded at any time..
    So any ideas at all?
    Thanks

Are you getting any audio? Any bent metal parts, specifically both of the pieces "sandwiching" the motherboard?

The AV port probably isn't being grounded properly. Check the tabs near the AV plug on the two metal shields and make sure they're contacting the little strip of metal on top of the AV port. It's hard to describe, but just take a look at that area.

man that machine is dumb, deaf and blind. re-check your AV plug, and also try a new AV cable to your TV, maybe you can get lucky and find out the cable is garbage.
Oh and eakinsme I have about 20 new 400c's coming in soon. I just ordered them tonight. Wish i could have ordered more.

ok you have your ps2 apart lets see

1.if it has been chipped look at all points for your ver from http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25728 make sure they did not burn sumting off or if ther is solder on the Bios pins or pads.

2.Next test all fuse (pics in link) with a multimeter on continuity ->|- if you dont get a beep on a fuse it is dead and needs to be replaced, also try power board for dead fuse.

3.Next test the AV port touch pins on board to points on the inside of your av cable(testing on board conections) you shuld get 6 beeps 1 for the outer sheald(touch proble to copper on bard) and 5 for iner coper pins (smal silver pins under av conector)

Last resort send it to me i will take a look at it and let you know what parts might have to be order ( any on board parts Under $5 n/c) for $25 +$12 S&H
