PS2 newb needs help

Alright... my brothers friend apparently ****ed up his old PS2 by trying to adjust the POT switches and said if I fixed it I could have it. Thing is.. I can't even figure out how to get to the switch... I can get the cover off but that is it. I tried viewing the Tutorials page but nothing showed up for some reason. Anyway, what I'm asking for is a good tutorial for adjusting the POT.. or good tutorials for the PS2 in general.

the laser probably needs to be replaced if the pots were just randomly adjusted.

I don't understand what kind of tutorial you need. I gave you a site address where EVERYTHING can be found. Of course if you would take the time to browse it a bit. A hint: /Laers Repairs/Ps2/Adjusting the pot...

Eh, I checked the tutorials page, didn't think to look at repairs for a tut on POT adjustment.

adjustments to the laser are generally used to set up a new unit that wasn't adjusted properly at the factory - it's time for a new laser - also see my posting - user name wajax
