PS2 "never" online –
07-05-2003,10:51 AM
I have a japanese PS2, wich is modded and I have a US ethernet adaptor and I have a original PAL "SOCOM" game.
Will I ever be able to go online????, I have installed the ethernet adaptor and it says that I am online but that they could not send a registration to SCEA.
What can i do????

The PAL version has DNAS active in it, so it will detect your mod-chip going online.....so definitely a no go.

the NTSC version doesnt, i think.
i have same setup as you, preacher(Jap PS2 30000 with US Network adapter) i'm fine with going online for other games (never tried my US Socom and it's a CDrip anyway). Same thing happened to me saying I can't register but that didnt stop my PS2 to go online.
