ps2 network adaptor wont load setup

sup, i have a working network adaptor and software disk, my problem is that after pressing X to start the ISP Setup i get a black screen nothing happens after that,..
i tried the disk and network adaptor on a diff ps2 and they work if,..

PS2 ver 4

Hmm..Thats weird. My Network adapter set up disc wouldn't hardly work on my Magic 3.1 (sometimes it did), but my Messiah 2 works every time! My guess is it's your chip, or it's you the cd itself (which i'm doubting the cd)....

I had your problem before. You have to boot up in safe mode..

nah, just boot it in psx mode. THats what i had to do
