What is the PS2 media player like in comparison the xbox ?? (Xbmc)
I want to know too![]()
Crap.
-Developement for PS2 "Reality" Media Player was stopped a long time ago. It stopped at 1.50
-It doesn't play nearly as much media as XBMC
-It doesn't have any HDD support (ie. stuck with burning CDs all the time)
-The network streaming feature doesn't work for a lot of stuff (only works for small stuff, forget full movies)
-The program is buggy (kept freezing on me for no reason)
-The interface is ugly (gives me a headache)
-The background music is annoying
-etc.
All you can really do with "Reality" media player is burn stuff on a CD (like a DivX movie) and play off there, which IMO is a shitty way to do it. I just don't bother with it, personally. I'm still waiting for a media player that will play stuff off the HDD, but that could take a while considering the PS2 scene's shape.
Now as someone who is used to the great XBMC, prepare to take a huge, huge step back with the PS2.
Thanks for your reply... I think I'll just stick with my xbox for media then :P
hahha yeh COMPLETE crap compared to the xbox sad to say, friggin XBMC works way better then even Windows Media player![]()

Windows Media player was never any good,
both QuickTime MoviePlayer and MPlayer are alot better( plays more formats, and reponds to actions decided by the user ).
Real is the worst hunk of shit I ever tried( Does not repond to cues by user until God knows when... ), almost as bad as VLC.
What i find ironic is XBMC beats any Windows, Linux or Mac Media Player.
yup, plays pretty much ANY format you can throw at it, I donno why they don't release something like that for windows :/
