    I need to know if there is a way to link to PS2's together whithout going through a computer... I need to be able to play head to head games without networking

    you dont need a computer to network. you can link 1 ps2 directly to another with a crossover ethernet cable as long as both have network adapters and call it a LAN. there are a few games that support this option.
    the other way to go is to use the firewire port, (not available on v9s or higher). you would also need a crossover firewire cable if you wanted to directly link 2 ps2s. however, there arent many games that support this -- gt3 is the only one i can think of.
