This may have been covered, but I didn't find a solution by searching. I want to play Time Crisis 2 but don't want to sacrifice s-video. Is there an adapter that will allow the use of s-video for Guncon 2, or a reliable gun that does not require an RCA plugin to the TV?
there is a sony adapter that is a pass through for just this purpose. It has compoisite and svideo out and has the pass through for the standard ps2 cable connector.
Either way you use it, you can get svideo. I used it for Vampire night.
I have no problems with the PS2 S-Video and using the gun for Time Crisis 2
how would i get my gun to work without taking off my component setup?
you cant use light guns on HDTV ;(
and really your not using it in S-video, your converting down to Composite....

Well, you can play it on an HDTV, but only a traditional CRT TV. Plasma, projection, LCD, DLP, etc are out of the question. As for the small RCA<->S-video converter, that's not quite what I was looking for as I would still have to come from an RCA output, which defeats the purpose. I have heard of another adapter like the one mentioned, but still can't seem to find any other info on it.
