PS2 Lasers

Im reading up on these and i need to buy one for my cousins v4 ps2, but from the looks of it all lasers are refurbished, can i not buy a Genuine BRAND NEW laser?

I believe the only way to get a brand new older model laser is to find that version ps2 somehow still unused. I don't think Sony makes that model nor do they just make replacement lasers for obsolete versions.

As long as you buy the refurbished laser from a known merchant with a decent warrenty I wouldn't have a problem. Then again I have a lot of refurbished stuff in my house and have had zero problems so I'm a bit biased.

Im ordering from www.ps2laser.co.uk (A'n'D Consoles) are these guys any good at all?, e.g good warranty, customer service etc..
