I have a ps2 that has a messed up laser (can't read dvds). I've tried swapping with another laser, seems it's the mobo. Is it worth getting a new mobo (to fix laser) or is it better just to buy a network adapter + HDD and dump everything onto a HDD inside? Both methods cost about the same, however with the HDD method I get network adapter access too (which I don't have right now). I just can't seem to let go of my "disc" mentality. Any disadvantages with putting everything on an HDD?
