ps2 is having trouble reading ps1 games
ps2 is having trouble reading ps1 games –
i have had my exploit up and running now for about 6 or 7 months and have had no problems at all untill about a week ago. when i inserted my ps1 game (which i usually used) it came up as an invaled playstation disc. i cleaned it several times but the same thing kept showing up. i tried with other ps1 games that i had and all but 1 came up the same way. two of the games i tried had very little scraches on them and they didnt work but the one that did work was scratched very badly. today when i turned my ps2 on and stuck my only working ps1 game in it came up with the same message saying it was an invaled playstation disc. none of this happened untill i got the new ratchet: deadlocked game that i was playing off the disc with. is there anything i can do to fix this problem? i dont want to open my ps2 if possible because i fried my last ps2's laser be adjusting the power to high on it.
Have you tried a PS2 CD or audio CD?
my codebreaker v9.0 cd game and ratchet: deadlocked dvd game work perfectly and music cds play as well. one of the ps1 games i have, nfl gameday 2001, has a music track on it so it shows up as a music cd instead of a ps1 game. its one of the two games i have that dont have alot of scratches.
Does the same thing happen if you remove your memory card?
yes it did. i fixed my problem. it turns out that my laser had a crap load of dust on it because i dont play it all that much at the moment and it just sits in one spot all the time.
