PS2 Bios Version

How would one look up his PS2 BIOS version?

SCPH-30001
SERIAL U4xxxxxx
DATECODE 1B

This a V4

Since there is a possiblility that the BIOS is V. 030... I have read about people flashing BIOSes. Could I bring my PS2 up to version 040 if it isn't 040? I know that there are V4 with BIOS 040... the 30001R uses them.

you can't flash a ps2 bios. if you could -- no one would need any modchips. and why would anyone wan't to upgrade their ps2 bios??

Because he needs to know if the bios is compatible with his magic chip, apparently it works with one bios but not the other...

Pokeme there is no way to check the version of your ps2 bios as they were never released in versions,also there is no way that the bios is flasheble as the bios is a READ ONLY chip,basicly that means that it is programed once at the factory and cant be reprogramed after that,the PS2 isnt like a Xbox that can be reprogramed at will.

Also if you are afraid that your magic chip wont work just get a Matrix infinety or duo2se becouse they work on all v4 ps2 mechines without enay problem.

You can check bios version by looking on top of it.
This I think is a Ver7 bios, Ver4 will be similar but will say 030, or maybe 040.

to go through all of that for a magic chip aint worth the hassle. get a better chip and live care free

isnt thier a bios extracing elf to extract to the mc zero-x was talking about it in some thread that i cant remember
