    Hey guys,

This is tricky (at least to me)...I put the new PS2 in my car, which fits great in the glove compartment. Is there a way so that when I turn on the car the PS2 turns on instead of going to standby? I have it connected to an inverter that turns on with the ignition, but the PS2 goes into standby. I've tried holding the button in while putting in the power, but it stays in standby until you push the button in...Please help

youd probably have to wire up a circuit that detects the electricity going thru

This would then set off a switch of some kind

and then you would have to wire that switch to the reset button

    Just my idea

thats new, but would you really want that to happen? it being in stand by could serve as a precaution. especially if your car surged with exsessive power it could cause an unsafe spike to your ps2.

A couple of relays should be able to swing it. You have relay ?A? powered through relay ?B? (low signal position). Power goes on and relay ?A? grounds Reset button line while a resistor and capacitor configuration cause relay ?B? to power (switch high) a split second later than relay ?A? causing power to switch off relay B and holding relay ?A? off until power is reset.

Yeh this seems to be that way
he only uses the cig lighter beacause thats where his inverter plugs in, use a inverter that can run off another point and you dont have to use the cig lighter
