installed dms3 on a10 board worked great,but now i get a real high pitched whistle after a while or the sound may go all together and then return to normal for a bit and then back to a high pitch whisle

Check the clock wire but i don't think is thats. Check the motherboard for solder splashes.
Those symptoms would most likely be from solder splashes.
checked everthing still get high pitch whistle only when booted to ps2 mode,even without any disk installed all other modes are okay
It might be a faulty chip, take the chip out and test the ps2.
...Or a bad install.
booted with eject button to disable chip and have no problems sometimes you can play a game for an hour before it whistles or it might do it in a minute also the audio might just mute instead. it whistle for a minute then goes away only to return later
Deffo sound like a short around the bios pin's or one of the crystals is going down on board.
