Hey everyone recently my PS2 has been acting strange. It makes this grinding noise with only SOME disks (mainly the blue ones). One time I put Star Wars Bounty Hunter in and it scratched the crap out of it. Please help

Does it make scratches in a cirle form? I had the same problem once, and one thing that may help is a protection mat. You can get one at consoleplus.
No, it makes deep scratches about a mm wide all over the disk like the laser is hitting it.
here is the problem...since the disc drive in a PS2 is a DVD-ROM drive it spins faster so it can read DVDs and since CDs (the discs with the blue bottom are all CD-based) are lighter than DVDs they spin hella fast and scratch in the tray if its dirty...small dust particles can seriously damage the disc when its spinnin this fast so what u should do is clean ur disc tray by blowing away the dust with a can of compressed air or if these are CD-R games, buy a CD stomper and put labels on ur discs so they are heavier and dont fly around it the tray as much

nope...juss refrain from playin CD based games too much and try to clean ur disc tray a lil more often
