I recently installed a 50k mod in a new V9 50001 US system. After installing the chip using the diagrams found at modchipman.com, The system would boot up fine to the browser but the disk wont spin at all. I know the DVD drive is fine as it spins and plays just fine. Would anyone happen to know what the problem could be? I removed the install wires and still have the same prob...Any help would be appreciated. The install that I did involved the points on the bottom of the mobo, which I had to scrape off some of the points to get the solder to stick.

    check for bridges between legs

and check for solder balls and splashes EVERYWHERE

then reassemble the ps2 and see if you can get originals to work

Well I thought I did that...I will go all over it again and see if that fixes anything. Do any of the bottom points have anything to do with the DVD spinning as that area was a prob for me to clean and get the solder to stick
