Ps2 –
08-22-2005,11:00 PM
I wanna buy a new ps2- fat one is 4 years old. But i see that v12s have problems. Looking to get v13. I will probably buy it in a mointh. Are all systems sold right now at major retailers- bestbuy, gamestop v13?
How do u identify v13?
How do you identify pvr lenses from spu lenses? (pics if possible)

You can't identify a v13 by looking at the box. You have to open the box and look at the pstwo itself. I would look for the warranty sticker which should be on the bottom of the pstwo instead of the back of it. Note that this does not guarantee that it's a v13 but it usually does.
As for who is carrying the new v13, that is a very vauge topic. Not all Bestbuys are the same and some Bestbuys sell faster than others. Some game stores sell better than others and they get new pstwos more often than others.
You shouldn't be too affraid to buy pstwos, there are now fixes like summ0ne's fix which protects the laser pretty well. I've applied the summ0ne's fix to many pstwos and I have not had one return. Just use good media and burn them slow if you're going to install a modchip.

I'm still debating on whether to get a modchip.
Recently i lost interest in offline games. Just playing bf2 socom2, and 3 when it comes and cs source.
So i probably wont be getting a mod chip.
Can someone answer part #2? post a pic of pvr lens and spu lens?
