It doesn´t matter what IP you give your PC, you must only give then PS2 the same IP-range.....
And i Think you must set IP on PC manually without router, and in "gateway" let empty or set the same IP....

What i did is disconnect from my home wifi net work
And assine an manual ip like 10.0.0.2 and check the validate on closing
When i close it there is sone check and no ip is found when i saw throught ipconfig
Can some one hlp me

Maybe you give a wrong IP, cause with IP 10.0.0.x you must set MASK to 255.0.0.x.
So give your PC an IP how your router give it......
